Genesis 1:27-28
So God created humankind in God's image. In the image of God, God created them; male ~~~~and~~~~ female God created them.
God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
Genesis 2:18-20b
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the human earth creature [Ha'Adam] should be alone"... So out of the ground the Lord God formed every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the human to see what he would call them; and whatever the human called every living creature, that was its name. The human gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field."

In this story, we learn that God cares for all of the creation, and gives people the responsibility to care for it. Why do you think God asked Adam to name the animals? Were they supposed to be friends? Do you think Adam and Eve (our oldest human ancestors in Africa) were scared of some of the animals? Which ones would they have been scared of?
We can tell from the Bible story that human beings have a very special place in God’s heart. Do you think God loves us more than the other animals? What is different about us? How did the first language make us different?
What's your favorite part of Creation? Favorite plant or animal? Do you take care of them? Any that you really don't like? What do you think about taking care of the parts we don't like? Do they have a purpose besides what they do for us? What is their purpose?

Our second class will be on Sunday, October 11 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. We will NOT be meeting at the church. Instead, please meet in the parking lot of Churchill Middle School on Wasatch Blvd. Together we will study God's creation of the universe, by reading Genesis 1 and looking at the view of the Salt Lake Valley!
