Community Valentines

Make a plan to share blessings in your community for Valentine’s Day as a family

There are so many people in our communities who quietly do their jobs so that our lives are a little easier. Check out this wonderful storybook written and illustrated during the pandemic:

Valentine’s Day is a great day to take homemade cookies to civil servants, librarians, police officers, fire men, nurses, and others who don’t often receive the recognition the deserve. Do you know someone who might appreciate some cookies or a card at their work on Valentine's Day?

You can also visit a home for the elderly or a hospital wing on Valentine’s Day, depending on current visiting policies (always call ahead). Take homemade Valentines with you, or bring along the supplies to make Valentines with the people you are visiting. So often, the very presence of others is more of a gift than a glittery piece of paper, so don’t worry too much about what you have made – just focus on connecting with others.

Another idea is paint rocks with Valentine's Day messages and place them around sidewalks on your communty, for everyone to enjoy.
